Why it matters

Our heart for people and wildlife

Having experienced hardship firsthand, our founder Chris Muzhira understands the importance of opportunity, education, dignity and community support. He wants the success of Tukio Travels to create a positive impact, not only for our guests, but for the people and places that make every journey possible.

Tukio Heart listens to each community’s needs and gives back what we can, through social projects, essential products and conservation advocacy.

What's next

Helping students stay in school

Next, Tukio Heart plans to help pay school and examination fees for underprivileged and orphaned students, so that cost is never the reason a child cannot finish their education.

Conservation

Protecting the wild places we love

Africa’s wildlife is one of the reasons our guests travel, and one of the reasons we do what we do. We work to ensure our journeys support national parks and conservation in every country we visit, and we choose partners who share that commitment.

Through Tukio Heart we also support community outreach programmes: training local communities in nature conservation, preventing deforestation, reducing human–wildlife conflict, and introducing organic farming and other sustainable ways of living alongside wildlife.
