Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This privacy policy explains how Tukio Travel Tours Limited, a company registered in Zambia with its address at 195/59 Garden House, off Mumbwa Road, Lusaka, Zambia (“Tukio Travels”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit tukiotravels.com or contact us about a journey.

1. Who we are

Tukio Travels is a tailor-made African travel company founded by Chris Muzhira. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about your privacy at info@tukiotravels.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use our “Plan your journey” form, email or call us, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, phone number and country of residence
  • travel preferences, such as destinations, travel style, dates, length of stay, number of adults and children, and budget
  • any notes you choose to share with us, and how you heard about Tukio Travels
  • your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter

Please do not send us sensitive information, such as health details or passport numbers, through the website form. If we need information like this to arrange your travel, we will ask for it separately and explain why.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This helps keep the website secure and working properly.

3. How we use your information

  • to reply to your enquiry and design a proposed itinerary
  • to arrange and manage your journey with our partner camps, lodges, guides and transport providers if you decide to travel with us
  • to send you our newsletter, if you have subscribed
  • to run, secure and improve our website
  • to meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations

We only use your information where we have a valid reason to do so: because you asked us to (for example, by sending an enquiry), because it is needed to arrange your travel, because you have given consent (for example, to receive our newsletter), or because we have a legitimate interest in running our business that does not override your rights.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary with:

  • travel partners, such as camps, lodges, guides, airlines and transfer companies, so they can provide the services you have booked
  • service providers who help us run our business, such as our website host (GoDaddy) and email providers
  • professional advisers or authorities where we are required to by law

Because our partners are based across Africa and our service providers may be based elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your own. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected.

5. Cookies and third-party content

Our website uses a small number of cookies that are needed for it to work, for example to keep the site secure and remember your cookie choices. We only use other cookies, such as those set by embedded Instagram content, if you agree to them in our cookie banner.

The fonts on our website are served from our own server, so no information is sent to font providers when you visit.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. For full details of the cookies we use, see our Cookie Policy. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the website may not work properly if you do.

6. How long we keep it

If you send us an enquiry that does not lead to a booking, we keep your details for up to 2 years in case you would like to pick up planning again, and then delete them. If you travel with us, we keep your booking records for as long as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes, and for no longer than 7 years after your trip. Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time by emailing info@tukiotravels.com.

7. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No website or email system is completely secure, so please contact us if you have any concerns.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct or delete it
  • object to or restrict how we use it
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from our newsletter
  • complain to your local data protection authority

To make a request, email info@tukiotravels.com. We will respond as quickly as we can and within the time limits set by law.

9. Children

Our website is not intended for children. Where a family journey includes children, we only collect the details needed to arrange their travel, and only from a parent or guardian.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.

11. Contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, please contact us at info@tukiotravels.com or through our contact page.
