Botswana is a landlocked country that shares borders with Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Namibia. An impressive 38% of the countries total land area is devoted to national parks, reserves and wildlife management areas.
The country is famous for having some of the most beautiful wilderness and wildlife areas on the African continent. Botswana’s population is small at only 2.2 million and most of the population is found in the eastern part of the country. 70% of the country is covered by the Kalahari Desert. The harsh and unwelcoming desert is the reason Botswana is sparsely populated.
Found in the north west of Botswana the Okavango Delta is one of Botswana’s most popular destinations. The Okavango River flows into the parched Kalahari Desert from the Angolan Highlands creating a haven for a variety of wildlife.
